Reviewing new products is one part of being a blog writer that I enjoy doing.
There is a product line that has come out in the last few months that I really find interesting and that is the lineup of products from SKrAPr
I first heard of the SKrAPr product while watching an episode of Dragon’s Den which is a Canadian Show which has a panel of Millionaire investors that listen to sales pitches from small companies that need money to bring their products to market in a big way (the show Shark Tank in the US was a spin off of and stars two of the investors from Dragon’s Den)
The inventor of the SKrAPr, Richard Lambert got a deal from Jim Treliving of Boston Pizza fame and now has a plant in Vaughn, Ontario producing products.
Through twitter I connected with Annette Penney who is the Social Media Director for SKrAPr and we started talking and she asked me to review the SKrAPr product line.
I jumped at the chance to do so and we agreed to meet at a BBQ Restaurant in Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario called Hog Tails BarBQue which is close to home for her and not too far from my parents in Kitchener. where not only did I get the chance to get the SKrAPr samples from her but also have a meal and do a review together on the restaurant at the same time which you can read all about here.
I received from Annette the original SKrAPr and SKrAPr Jr. along with 3 SKrAPr SPrEADr’s and their newest product which is not even in stores yet which is the SKrAPr GrILLr a BBQ Grill Grate Scraping tool. All of which are shown here along with my buddy Coolio who loves to get his picture taken and slide into my blog now and then.
Today I will review the SPrEADr which is great for spreading anything from Margarine, Butter, Peanut Butter, Cream Cheese or what have you.
There are a few thing that I really like about it.
1. Sturdy handle which is solid and feels balanced in the hand.
2. Flexible blade with a large surface area that makes for easier spreading (or is that SPrEADING?)
3. sharp enough to cut easily through bread and buns but will not cut your skin so it is safe for kids to use.
4. One of them also has a serrated blade.
5. Easily washed.
Here is a short video I made using the SPrEADr for the first time
The SKrAPr products (except right now for the GrILLr) are available at Canadian retailers Canadian Tire, Bed Bath & Beyond, Chef Central, Home Hardware, Kitchen Stuff Plus and Zellers
I will review the other SKrAPr Products shortly.
Edit…. Here is a link to my review of the GrILLr
If you go to the SKrAPr facebook page and “like” them you will be kept up to date with new ways of picking up a SKrAPr product of your own and they do draws for free products quite often too.
