Review of the MR. Bar-B-Q 18 Piece BBQ Tool Set and Tailgate Recipe Contest

Tools are very important to a guy, and most of the time when you think of a guys tools you think of mechanic tools like wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers.

And I will never forget a sign that I saw on a mechanics tool chest.

Maybe it is not as important with BBQ Tools but at the same time a guy likes to have good quality tools and today I want to show you all what I won in a slogan contest a couple of months back.

Huck’s Hut had a contest looking for a new slogan and I won with the slogan “What the Huck are you waiting for!” and after winning I wrote a short blog post about it.

For my efforts I won 2 prizes from MR. Bar-B-Q a Water powered Grill cleaner and an 18 piece BBQ Tool set.

With the projects and Ribfests during the summer months I did not have the chance to try out my prizes but recently I was invited for a Boys only weekend at my friend Herman’s cottage and I thought it would be a perfect weekend to pack up my Smoker and cook up a mess of Ribs, Chicken and Pulled Pork for the boys. and I brought the 18 piece BBQ tool set to try out.

Coolio loves to get his picture taken and he helps me to show off all of the great products that I ma lucky enough to review.

I was sure glad that I brought this tool set with me to the cottage as even though the cabin had a small gas grill for us to cook the Beer Can Chicken and finish the Ribs on after smoking, there were no tools and in the kitchen drawer was one puny little paring knife (That will just not do!)

Just look at all the cool pieces in this set Tongs, Spatula, Silicone basting brush, Skewers, Corn holders, and a BBQ Knife and Fork.

Each one of them very well made and solid feeling well balanced tools, that are quality stainless steel and held in place in a sold case.

While I was smoking the Ribs and the Pork Shoulder I used the BBQ to do a Beer Can Chicken and when that was done I used the large BBQ knife that came in the tool box to carve the bird and I was impressed on how easy it was to carve using the MR. Bar-B-Q knife. And yes that is Chicken….. not Penguin

Next up was when I finished the Ribs on the BBQ and sauced them using the Silicone Basting Brush and flipping the ribs with the tongs and using the knife again to slice the racks into single bones.

I feel like a pro wearing my Whiskey Bent BBQ shirt I picked up in Florida :)

The guys really enjoyed the BBQ food that I cooked on the week-end. and it was fun to cook for them and it was easy with the great tools from MR. Bar-B-Q.

Here is a letter that came with my prizes from the MR. Bar-B-Q company. Impressive that they took the time to give me a personal letter.

MR. Bar-B-Q has lots of really cool BBQ Products and I am looking forward to reviewing more of their products in the future.

Check out their website here and they also have a facebook page as well.

And here is something exciting! MR. Bar-B-Q  is sponsoring a recipe contest….
