I should of posted this earlier, Joe Simeunovich and I have made this a regular joint to stop at for lunch for months now.
I am going to first talk about the first time that we visited Big Boy’s Burgers in Whitby in the old Coffee Time building at the corner of Consumers Drive and Thickson Road, just North of Hwy 401.
Joe and I had seen the opening soon signs they had up and could not wait to check it out as we enjoy checking out the new restaurants that pop up in our area.
It was the middle of February 2012 that we first walked in and even though we had on our winter coats, there was no snow. And that was a common site all winter as we had one of the mildest winters that we could think of and Joe and I are both in our 50′s and have seen a lot of winters!
The staff are super friendly here, and I see the owners Hummer out front a lot so he is a hands on owner to be sure.
He is always saying hi every time we come i the restaurant, which has been numerous times.
During our first visit Joe had a burger and I decided on a juicy Steak on a bun.
The Steak was huge and very tender, and the fries are the second best fries in the region, the only ones I like better would be the fries at Five Guys.
But the best item on the menu that I have tried so far is the Phili Cheese Steak!
You could honestly go in an order 1 order of fries and one Phili Cheese Steak and share the meal between 2 people, the serving is so big!
I also like the poutine but that is a meal all on it’s own as well.
This was one of my more recent trips into Big Boy’s and I had the Phili Cheese Steak combo.
As you can see this is a busy place!
Really my pictures here do not do the sandwich credit as there is a lot of meat on it, it is just covered by the toppings I asked for.
The gravy is a good tasting gravy, though after I eat the sandwich I rarely finish the fries since the Phili cheese is so filling on it’s own!
Just the fact that Joe and I keep going back to this place should tell you how much we like it, and we like it a lot!
The staff is very friendly as well,
My only knock would be that at this location they do not have a debit machine though there is an ATM on the premises.
I would think that a visit from my friend Ann Burns from Package of Solutions would be in order, Ann has over 23 years experience in the POS business and has all the latest gadgets that make taking payments a breeze.
